Drama among the Democrats, rifts in the Republican base, increasing turnout, and polling percentages… for a political junkie it is all too addicting. Following our video submission to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Executive Director and Why Tuesday? Chief Correspondent, Jacob Soboroff, sent me great news in an email this morning: voters abroad are now able to participate in the Democratic Primary via Internet!

Voting should be convenient for any eligible voter who wants to vote. And so the question remains: if ex-pats are good enough for this technology, isn’t everybody else who wants to vote? (more…)

Iowa’s governor wants to take a good hard look at having residents of his state, from where I just returned, vote exclusively by mail. According to an article in the Gazette, Governor Chet Culver, who was previously Iowa’s Secretary of State, thinks voting by mail might increase turnout and save the state money.

“It’s important to have a discussion about it,” said Culver according to the Gazette. “The reality is that every county in the state is trying to find a way to have a verified paper trail. This would be a good way to do it — or invest millions of dollars in more (voting) machines.”
