Props to friend of Why Tuesday? Steve Garfield, one of the first video bloggers ever, for asking Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick via vlog if he’d support weekend voting. And props to the Governor for responding to Steve.

One correction for the Governor: you say it might be tough to move Election Day because the reason we vote on Tuesday is inscribed in the Constitution. Actually, that’s not correct — it’s not in the Constitution. Find out why we vote on Tuesday by clicking here.

Other ways to increase voter participation that Governor Patrick mentions are same day registration, early voting, and vote-by-mail.

Governor Patrick, I’ll shoot you a video response via our YouTube channel tomorrow with the correct answer, too. Thanks for putting yourself out there and talking about our voting system.
