Why Tuesday? On Pacifica Radio

Monday I was on the debut episode of Election Unspun, a brand new 8-minute nationwide radio program created by the community radio network Pacifica in partnership with a group called Free Speech Radio News. I spoke with Leigh Ann Caldwell, who we first met on the trail in Iowa when we showed up to the Des Moines Register presidential debates by horse and buggy.

There is no doubt in my mind that there would be higher voter turnout on Saturday than Tuesday. Most people work on Tuesday, and getting to the polls (usually before or after work) and often standing in long lines can be a time-consuming hassle...
