Liveblogging the CNN/YouTube Debate

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — Greetings from the press filing center at the Progress Energy Center. We’re on the lookout for questions about our voting system, just like we were last time around at the CNN/YouTube Democratic debate. Stay tuned for updates. Watch the question we submitted, and follow along with the debate, after the jump.

For more on how the questions were picked, check out this New York Times blog post by Ariel Alexovich.

* 8:30PM EST Update: No election reform question yet. Josh Levy is liveblogging at techPresident using an awesome tool called Cover It Live.

* 8:51PM EST Update: About to be the first commercial break. Still no sign of election reform or the state of our voting system

* 9:27PM EST Update: Nothing yet. Thinking we might have to take the Candidate Challenge to the spin room.

* 10:00PM EST Update: Debate is just about over. No dice on questions about voter participation in America, and that’s even though we rank near the bottom all countries in turnout of eligible voters. So, here we go. I’m gonna try and see if we can track down some candidates in the spin room.

* 10:09PM EST Update: Debate is over for all intents and purposes. These fellas are talking about baseball. What about election reform?! Going to the spin room.
